Holy Cross After School Club

OSCARS @ Holy Cross Out of School Club has been established since 2002, and is open to children attending Davidson’s Mains and Cramond Primary Schools in classes P1, P2 and P3. The club is based in the Holy Cross Church Hall, Davidson’s Mains.

Although the emphasis is on fun and enjoyment, children are encouraged to join in activities and learn new skills – whilst making friends.

Location
The After School Club is based in Davidson’s Mains at the Holy Cross Church Hall, which is situated just off Quality Street, by the mini roundabout. The children are met at school by our staff wearing OSCARS uniform, before being transferred by OSCARS minibus (with fitted seatbelts) to the Holy Cross Church Hall.

Open from 2.45 – 6.15pm Monday – Thursday, and 12.15 – 6.15pm on Fridays.
Parents can collect their children at any point during the club opening.

Activities & Timetable
The club offers a wide range of activities both on and off site. Following consultation with the children, our team of staff will meet regularly to plan and finalise a programme of activities.

The programme takes into account the time of year, incorporating special occasions and multi cultural celebrations. At regular intervals, the club will hold theme weeks. The activities offered always include arts and crafts, physical activities and imaginative play. The programme, which changes on a weekly basis, will be clearly displayed for all parents/carers/children to see.

Resources such as sports equipment, arts and crafts materials, board games, books, dressing up clothes and pretend play equipment are readily available on a daily basis.

Children attending the club receive a daily snack. The snack menu will be displayed at the club.

Occasionally, the children will enjoy an off site activity, such as a trip to a local park, cinema, bowling etc. Details of these activities will be communicated to parents/carers in advance.
